Training Centre

Lyme Bay Sea School is situated in Bridport harbour, West Bay, on the beautiful Lyme Bay coastline. This is a stunning stretch of Dorset's coastline with the views from the bay providing an amazing backdrop to our training sessions.

Our primary operations area is a 6 mile radius from West Bay with our secondary operations area being a 6 mile radius from Lyme Regis.

The harbour at West Bay has a good large slip way and pontoons to launch from and moor up. Sheltered from most winds the new outer harbour provides us with an excellent area to teach slow boat manoeuvres with the channel to the inner offering variety of conditions to gain experience in boat handling in confined spaces.

The school works closely with the harbour staff and local auxiliary coastguard, many of which have successfully completed their Powerboat, VHF and First Aid training with us.
