Brian Hurst

Brian has over 20 years experience of sailing and powerboat handling both in the UK and the Mediterranean and is to be found out on the water on one of the school RIBs, sailing, or onboard 'Padraigin' his Grand Banks motor cruiser.

He teaches the Advanced RIB courses as well as the Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Theory shorebased courses at the school and turns out for various sailing events as the on the water safety officer. He also undertakes new boat handovers and deliveries especially to the Mediterranean and has skippered a range of vessels both sail and power, the largest to date being an Aquastar 74 Explorer. He has also, sailed as relief mate onboard 'Lord Nelson', The Jubilee Sailing Trust square rigger working with the disabled and able bodied as well as with the OYC.

In his spare time Brian likes to dive, usually in warmer climes but his fellow instructors are determined to get him in or under UK waters this coming season through the schools connection with West Bay Diving.
