Short Range Certificate

This one day RYA course for the Short Range Certificate (SRC) covers VHF and DSC radio procedures allowing the leisure boater the same benefits in safety as professional skippers.

The course features on practical use of a VHF radio with built in Class D controller, again, providing practical use of DSC (Digital Selective Calling). Our radios have been modified for use in training (transmit function disabled) and candidates will be shown how to make routine calls with marinas, ports, harbours, HM Coast Guard and other vessels as well as making distress and urgency calls, which can save lives
