Level 2 Powerboat

This course is the National Powerboat Course and often the minimum stipulated requirement for boat insurance. The course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to be a competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence.

There is no previous experience required, however some boating experience, even as crew, will be an advantage. Minimum age is 12 with candidates under the age of 16 being issued an endorsed certificate.

The course includes launching, mooring, anchoring and recovery plus all the boat driving skills required for basic competence in a powerboat, including slow boat manoeuvres and some fast boat work including Man-over-board.

Duration: Two days.
Includes: 'Powerboat Logbook' (G20) and 'RYA Start Powerboating' (G48)
